USB-C

USB-C is the perfect interface for touch displays. It allows the transmission of video signals with a maximum of 3840×2160 at 60Hz, the use of the touch function, as well as fast data transmission with a maximum of 5 Gbit/s as well as charging the connected device with up to 100 watts.
hint: The actual range of functions depends on the connected device and the quality of the cables. Even high-quality copper cables usually only work up to a length of 2 m, for longer distances we recommend the use of Hybrid Cables (AOC).
HDMI inputs

hint:
The maximum supported resolution is 4K@60Hz.
The maximum transfer rate depends, among other things, on the quality and length of the HDMI cable. We recommend the use of high-quality cables.
TOUCH USB

hint:
Each Touch USB port is mapped to the input above. The side port switches between the DisplayPort and HDMI 1 inputs depending on the source connected and selected.
The maximum cable length supported by USB is 5 m. If you want to cover a longer distance, you need to use high-quality, active cables with integrated signal repeaters.
DisplayPort

hint:
The maximum supported resolution is 4K@60Hz. The maximum transmission rate depends, among other things, on the quality and length of the cable. We recommend the use of high-quality cables.
HDMI-OUT

hint:
On the HDMI Out, image and audio signals are available parallel to the currently reproduced screen content, for example, to display it on a large screen via a projector.
USB Data Interfaces

hint:
1. The side USB ports are used to connect external devices to the Android system. The front USB ports are also available for the active source. The assignment takes place automatically with the source switching.

7.2 Kindermann Launcher – Homescreen
The home screen has four sides: Search, Home, Work and Connect. To switch between functions, either click directly on the corresponding menu item at the top center of the screen or swipe left or right to go to the next area.

Homescreen
"Home" displays the time and date. Among them are four firmly defined applications: whiteboard, browser, screen sharing and the file manager. Below that, four more apps can be added as favorites in a second line.

Work
In the "Work" section, you will find all installed apps in alphabetical order. Tapping on it starts the app.

By long-pressing on an application, you get the option to select or deselect an app as a favorite by activating the star icon. (This app will then also appear under Favorites on the home screen or in the sidebar).
The app can be uninstalled via the Recycle Bin icon.

Connect (input selection)
Under "Connect" you can switch between the individual video inputs.

Source settings allow direct access to input-related settings, see Chapter 8.2.3.
Source Preview allows you to show available video sources in one window.
From the button
the source and size of the preview window (small, medium, fullscreen) can be selected. The "pin" pins the window so that an interaction with the app in the background does not automatically close the preview window.

Help shows the location of the video inputs on the device.

search
The search works both locally and online. In the left half, all local results (files, apps, etc.) are displayed. In the right area, search engines (google.com) are used to search the web. The search results will open in the system browser (Chrome).

Status Icons
The status icons are displayed on all home screen pages in the upper right corner. The respective icon is only displayed if the function is available or activated.
| An external storage medium, e.B. USB stick is connected | |
| The display is wired to a network | |
| The display is connected to a Wi-Fi network | |

8. Android System Settings
8.1 General Android Setting
Open the Settings app
.

hint:
For help with general Android settings, visit the official Google Android Help page.
8.2 Display-specific settings
To change device-specific settings, please select IFPD Settings in Android Settings – System.

In the system settings, you can make all device-specific settings.
8.2.1 Device Management

Here you can choose which audio and video devices are used.
Audio: You can turn the audio input on and off, as well as select different microphones.
In Audio Output , you can choose between either the internal or external speakers, which can be connected via jack, USB, SPDIF or HDMI.
The options of internal speakers and optical fiber are always available, whereas HDMI ARC is only available when the ARC device is connected to the ARC port of the display (HDMI 2).
Volume control also works for external audio devices.

Hint:
In the case of speakers connected by jack, the audio of the display is automatically switched to them, the internal speakers are muted. The volume can be controlled via the volume buttons on the case as well as via the slider in the sidebar.
When connecting an external device via SPDIF, the volume can only be adjusted via the externally connected audio device, e.g. using the remote control or device buttons.
For ARC-enabled devices, both the display and the external device adjust the volume synchronously. The volume of the display defines the maximum volume of the external device via HDMI at the moment of connection. For example, with an output volume of the display of 50, only half of the maximum volume is possible and for a full volume, e.g. of a soundbar, the volume of the display must be set to 100 before connection.
8.2.2 Power Settings
The following functions are available in the power settings.

- Automatic shutdown without signal:

Turns off the display after the specified time if there is no signal at any of the video inputs.
You can choose from: Off/5/10/15/30 or 60 minutes.
Selecting the Android source overrides the automatic shutdown. - What to do when connected to the mains
Here you can adjust how the display behaves when the power plug is plugged in or the power button is confirmed.
You can choose between "Start", switch to standby mode or restore the state before switching off. - Auto-Standby
If this option is activated, the display automatically switches to standby if there is no user action (touch input, remote control, buttons) for a certain period of time.
You can choose between Off, 10/30 minutes, 1/2/4 hours.

- On/off timer
In this menu, you can specify times when the display will automatically turn on or off. For example, the illustration shows that the display is automatically turned off every Monday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

- Automatic wake-up when a source is connected, causes the display to turn on as soon as a video signal is detected, e.g. from a connected notebook.
- Automatic wake-up – Wake-on-LAN allows the display to be turned on over the network.
Hint:
Wake-on-LAN only works if the display is connected via LAN cable and is not disconnected from the mains.
The MAC address of the LAN port is required for control. These can be found in the Android Settings –> About Device.
8.2.3 Security

- Settings Lock – blocks access to all Android settings and display settings with a PIN code.
- Remote Control Lock – disables the use of the remote control.
- Touch Lock – Temporarily disables the touch function. The reactivation can be done via an icon displayed on the display.
- Lock of the front buttons (incl. standby button)
- USB Port Lock – Blocks access to the USB drive
- App installation lock – blocks the installation of APKs
Hint:
Once the settings have been provided with a PIN by means of a total lock, they can no longer be unlocked without entering the individual PIN and the device may have to be reset for re-access to factory settings or the firmware must be manually reinstalled via USB. Note that all settings and files will be lost in the process. The latter must therefore be secured beforehand.
hint:
For a deeper and more advanced administration of the touch displays, we recommend the use of SOTI MobiControl, which is fully integrated into the TD-12xx series.
8.2.4 Source Settings
In the video and audio settings, you can adjust the color, contrast, brightness and sound settings with predefined profiles or individually.

hint:
This option is only available if you selected a video input and is currently displayed. These settings are not available on Android. The settings affect the display of all video sources, but not Android (Home).
- Automatic source selection on connection
Here you define the behavior of the display when a new video source is connected during operation.
If you select automatic switching, the source change takes place automatically as soon as a new video signal is connected. If you want to decide on the switch manually, select Notification. "Do not jump" disables the function.

- Automatic source selection in case of no signal
If this function is switched on, if the signal is missing (e.g. input selected, without source or signal aborted), it will automatically switch to the next source with the signal after 10 seconds. The OPS source is preferred. - Renaming sources
If you have a playback device permanently connected to a specific input, you can rename the name of the input (e.g. HDMI1 to "Visualizer").

- Source after power on
At this point, you can specify which input is displayed after the display is switched on. For example, if you use a built-in OPS PC by default, you can display this input immediately after starting the display.

- Block sources
You can use this setting to limit the selection of available video inputs, for example to make it easier to use.
A lock is drawn for a locked input source. When trying to select the input, the message "Source is blocked" appears on the display.

8.2.5 Other
- Gestures
Here you can toggle the finger gestures on and off. The following are available:- Take a screenshot
- Switch app to windowed mode (if the app supports this feature)
- Turn off the device
- Splitscreen

- Show and hide sidebar handles
Here you decide whether the icons at the edge of the screen
are permanently visible or are displayed by swiping gesture.

- PEN 2.0: (Dis)ables support for Windows Ink in compatible applications (such as Office 365). Additional annotation functions are available via pen input, such as those known from tablets with an active stylus.
- Intelligent palm recognition: By default, whiteboard applications can erase with the heel of your hand or the eraser. If this function is activated, you can place your hand on the glass while writing, but the delete gesture will no longer work.
- Smart Sreen Protection:
Activates a protection function that periodically displays an animated checkerboard pattern on the display. You can choose from: Off, 0.5/1/3 hours.
Hint:
We recommend activating this function if the same content is shown on the display for hours or if certain areas of the image do not change or only rarely. This will prevent long-term damage to the panel.
8.2.6 About
Under the menu item "About" you will find all relevant system information (e.g. the firmware versions, etc.).
You can also change the device name here.

9. Apps
We have preinstalled the following apps for you:
- Kindermann Annotation App
The annotation function can be called up via the sidebar. This allows you to take handwritten notes, sketches, etc.

Function:
* With the Screenshot function, you can transfer the entire image or a section directly to the Whiteboard app.
** These are stored in temporary memory for this purpose and can be inserted directly into one or more separate pages of the whiteboard when clicking on the memory or while closing the app and edited there as an image.
- Kindermann Whiteboard App
The app works like a digital flipchart or a digital board and offers the possibility to make handwritten notes, sketches, etc. with digital ink on the display.

Functions:
- S-Write Whiteboard App
The app works like a digital flipchart or a digital board and offers the possibility to make handwritten notes, sketches, etc. with digital ink on the display.

Functions:
- EShare – BYOD / Wireless Streaming
With the help of this screen sharing app, you can wirelessly cast the screen of your computer, smartphone, and tablet to the display. The software for Windows, macOS, Android, ChromeOS and Linux can be found at https://eshare.app. Alternatively, the screen can also be conveniently shared via your laptop's browser without software. To use the WebCast function, first activate it in the EShare app on your display, then enter https://casts.app in the address bar of your browser and type in the ID shown on the display. After requesting the one-time password that appears, you can choose which screen you want to share. The third way to share your screen wirelessly is with the HDMI transmitters or USB-C transmitters. They work like an external screen and transmit the video signal intuitively to the display, also without software installation.
Please follow the instructions that will be displayed after opening the app.

You can find detailed instructions on EShare here.
